Terms of Service

Last updated:

Agreement

By creating an account or using searchengineoptimization.io (the “service”) you agree to these terms. If you are using it for an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept on its behalf.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.

Sites you add, and verification

You may only add domains you own or are authorised to work on. Features that make real outbound requests to a domain — crawls, sitemap and robots checks, background scans — stay locked until ownership is verified, by DNS record, an uploaded file, or Google Search Console. Do not attempt to route around that.

Acceptable use

  • Do not use the service to attack, overload or probe infrastructure you do not control.
  • Do not resell, redistribute or scrape bulk data out of the product to rebuild it elsewhere.
  • Do not attempt to bypass plan limits, rate limits or the verification gate.
  • Do not upload anything unlawful, or use the service to break the law.

We may suspend an account that is causing harm to the service or to others, and will normally tell you why.

Plans, billing and cancellation

There is a free plan. Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through Paddle, our merchant of record — your contract for payment is with them, and their terms apply to the transaction. Prices are shown before you buy.

Cancel at any time; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew after that. We do not automatically refund part-used periods, but if something has genuinely gone wrong, ask — we would rather sort it out than argue about it.

Plan limits (tracked keywords, number of sites, refresh frequency) are listed on the pricing page and may change; we will not reduce what an active paid plan includes without telling you first.

Third-party data, and what it is worth

Ranking, backlink, keyword and audit figures come from third-party providers and from Google Search Console. They are estimates and snapshots, not guarantees of accuracy or completeness, and they will sometimes disagree with other tools. The action plan is guidance based on general SEO practice.

We do not promise rankings, traffic or revenue. Search engines change constantly and are outside anyone’s control. Decisions you take based on this data are yours.

Your content, and ours

Your data stays yours — the sites you add, the notes and evidence you log, and everything collected for you. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you: storing it, processing it and showing it back to you.

The service itself — the software, design, and the wording of the action plan — remains ours.

Availability

We aim to keep the service up but do not promise uninterrupted availability. It is provided “as is”, without warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. Maintenance, provider outages and background jobs failing are all possible.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost rankings or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using the service and delete your sites or account at any time; deletion is immediate and irreversible. We may end or suspend access for a material breach of these terms, or if we discontinue the service — in which case we will give reasonable notice and a way to export what matters.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes with them, and for material changes we will notify account holders rather than relying on you to notice.
